The filter works on the principle of a pressure vessel with a manual pump. The package also includes a 1.5 m long hose for drawing water directly from a natural source (river, lake etc.). This allows easier access to water without needing to get your hands wet, and the ability to filter larger volumes of water at once into other prepared containers. The filter can be screwed directly onto most standardised wide-mouth bottles (CamelBak etc.) and can prefilter up to 2,000 litres of water at a rate of approximately 1.2 l / min.
