Climashield® Apex™ insulation keeps you warm even when wet
Unlike down, synthetic-fibre insulation keeps you warm even when wet and does not clump. The poncho can go in the washing machine. The insulation is light, efficient, breathable and compresses well.
In the Swagman Roll poncho we used Climashield® Apex™ at 67 g/m² — the same as in the Wolfhound winter jacket. Paired with the classic U.S. Model poncho it makes an effective set against rain and cold.
MultiCam® camouflage allows effective concealment in varied environments
The poncho is made of the original MultiCam® fabric by Crye Precision™. The pattern does not imitate a single environment — with smooth tonal transitions and multi-scale geometry it effectively breaks up the silhouette and makes identification harder at various distances and in changing light.
It is exactly this versatility that made the pattern a standard used by special forces all over the world.

As an underquilt beneath a hammock
Elastics along the sides let you hang the poncho under a hammock easily. It forms an insulating layer that wraps you steadily from below and at the sides.

The Swagman Roll is a tribute to travellers
Trappers, soldiers and the so-called swagmen (in Australia: itinerant workers) once carried no sleeping bags — they kept warm with rolled woollen blankets. In time synthetic liners replaced them, and together with a poncho they made rainproof insulation. Today Helikon-Tex ponchos carry on that tradition in the form of a modern, multifunctional product.
